Andy Dalton who was born on October 29, 1987, in Katy, Texas. He has played QB for the Cincinnati Bengals and been in the NFL since 2011. He made the Pro Bowl in 2011, his rookie year.

Andy Dalton led Texas Christian University to a Rose Bowl win over the Wisconsin Badgers in 2011 by a score of 21-19.


Facts #2:

Andy Dalton and WR A.J. Green broke many records as a rookie tandem QB and WR. Green was the Bengals first round pick in the 2011 draft and Dalton was the 2nd round draft pick.


Facts #3:

Andy Dalton nickname given to him by Bengals fans is “The Red Rifle,” because of his flaming bright red hair.


Facts #4:

Andy Dalton has led the Bengals to three consecutive playoff berths since being drafted and holds all of the franchise’s records for touchdowns and passing yards in a season.

Andy Dalton had a big year in college in 2009. He was able to quarterback the TCU Horned Frogs to a perfect season with a record of 12-0. They were the Mountain West Conference Champions, ranked 6th in the Associated Press poll and played in the BCS Fiesta Bowl losing to Boise State, 17-10.

Andy Dalton finished his TCU career with a total of 10,314 yards passing, a completion rate of 61.7%, with 71 TDs and 30 INTs. Excellent stats but as can been see now, INTs are still an issue at the pro level and maybe his reason for failure in the playoffs and people having a problem believing that he is a franchise QB in Cincinnati.

Andy Dalton being drafted created a quasi-semi QB controversy with former first round draft pick Carson Palmer demanding to be drafted which was done later on in the 2011 year.

Andy Dalton and Cam Newton in 2011 became the only two rookie QBs in NFL history to make the Pro Bowl the same season. Dalton got his opportunity when Tom Brady had to be replaced since New England won the AFC Championship and Brady couldn’t play the Pro Bowl.

Andy Dalton and his wife, Jordan Dalton have formed a Charity, “Andy and Jordan Dalton Foundation.” Their website says, The primary focus of the Andy and Jordan Dalton Foundation is to provide seriously ill and physically challenged children throughout Greater Cincinnati with daily support and life changing experiences.”
